The library provides many children with their first chance to use and enjoy a library. The school library is a welcoming place for study and reading. The school library is to support the students and teachers by providing access to current adequate and appropriate information resources. It also ensures that all the students, teachers and staff are effectively using the ideas and information. The library encourages the love of reading and development of student’s independent learning skills.
ABS school library has both printed as well as audio-visual material like CD-Rom and DVDs. There are plenty of books, encyclopedias, picture books, activity books, dictionaries etc. The library has books on literature in Hindi, Tamil and English. We have around 5000 books in our library for varied age groups.
- The seating capacity is of 50 children in the library.
- Students from Classes VI to XII visit the library. They refer books and participate in library activities.
- The interior of the library have been designed with the view of making it modern and student friendly.
- The library follows an open access system. The books are classified and shelved according to the Dewey decimal classification.
- The school has subscribed 12 periodicals currently.

Reading is all about understanding the written word and therefore it is only natural that once you have been reading for a while you will entertain a progressive writing.
We instruct the students to follow the care given below:-
- Do not leave books outside
- Keep books away from water
- Do not throw the books
- Turn pages one at a time
- Use book mark to “save” where you stop reading. Do not fold over a corner of the page.
- Do not draw or write in library books.
- Return the books on time.
