INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Independence Day was celebrated on August 15th with great enthusiasm and respect at our school campus. The school decorated with tricolour - saffron, white and green balloons and flags welcomed the eyes of all to the function. The ceremony started at 9:30 AM in the school open ground. The staff, students and parents gathered to witness the celebration.
To commemorate the sovereignty of our Nation, our Treasurer, Dr. Prema Subramanian unfurled the tricolour flag and our students in unison sang the Flag song & Vande Matharam and expressed the joy of our freedom. The welcome address was given by Mrs. R. Rathnabai, Principal of ABS Vidhyaalayaa. Students gave speeches in English, Tamil & Hindi enlightening everyone about our 76 years of Independence & about those heroes of our nation who sacrificed their lives for our independence.
The message of the day was given by our Academic Director, Mr. Sundaramurthy & the Presidential Address was given by our Chairman, Dr. Ramesh Subramanian where they rekindled the spirit of freedom, exhorted the students to follow the ideals of the great people & advised the students to become ideal citizens of the country.
Following this, the long-awaited Investiture ceremony took place to honour the selected students with their respective badges and the student council members then took an oath to faithfully work for the school. Our Chairman & Treasurer also encouraged them to put in honest efforts for every endeavour and become an inspiration for others.
Later, the students in their melodious voices sang Patriotic songs, did a monologue & danced to patriotic songs that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the Mother Land.
Prize Distribution took place to acknowledge those students who bought laurels for themselves and the school in both scholastic and non-scholastic areas.
The program culminated with the Vote of Thanks that was given by Dr. K. Gunasekaran, Vice Principal of ABS Vidhya Mandhir and the National Anthem. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and Unity in Diversity.
